Passion for pasta and logistics

Pasta dishes are among the most popular meals worldwide, especially when the pasta is made in Italy. For example, more than two-thirds of French families regularly put the original on their plates, and in Germany a good half do so. The northern Italian manufacturer Pastificio Temporin has been producing traditional fresh as well as dry pasta classics with enthusiasm and heart since 1964. Since 2018, DACHSER Italy Food Logistics has been supporting the company with its comprehensive logistics services, ensuring that customers' palates can enjoy pasta creations made with refined recipes.

For Italians, the themes around home, culture and identity are closely linked to their traditional pasta dishes. Federico Fellini once said, "Life is a combination of magic and pasta." The Italian film director and screenwriter, one of the pioneers of auteur filmmaking, impressed the cinema world in the last century with masterpieces such as "La Dolce Vita" and "La Strada." In 1963, his film "Otto e mezzo" (German title: Achteinhalb), which was considered the best by renowned critics, premiered in Italy. The work received over 16 awards and is considered a trend-setter for experimentalism. Exactly one year later, in 1964, the Temporin Family began making fresh pasta, such as tortellini, by hand in a small workshop in Lugagnano, a village in the province of Verona. Simply making pasta was not good enough for them. For the family it was an honest, unconditional passion. One of those passions that is inspiration to create excellent food or outstanding movies. At that time, if an Oscar had been awarded for tortellini, Mario Temporin, with his small masterpieces made with the best ingredients, would certainly have been one of the candidates for nomination.

Traditional products with freshness and refinement

To continue the tradition in the spirit of the family business, Antonio Temporin, Mario Temporin's son, decided to follow in his father's footsteps. He shared the passion for making pasta with great passion. Today the manufactory is run by the third generation and the success story continues. The products are now enjoyed by consumers all over the world and even in French overseas territories, such as Reunion or French Polynesia. No wonder! Because Antonio Temporin and his son as well as the successors were and are aware that passion is the only ingredient that really makes the difference when it comes to table culture, and pasta lovers in many corners of the world appreciate that.

In 2000, the premises were no longer sufficient to meet the ever-increasing demand. The manufactory moved to a much larger building in Sommacampagna, also located in the province of Verona. Currently, dry, fresh and stuffed pasta is produced in four complete production lines to bring the "taste of tradition" and the delicious balance of Mediterranean cuisine to the plates of customers. Just like the company, the product portfolio of the family-run business has grown continuously. Pastificio Temporin gained worldwide fame through the fresh pasta of the "Linea Gourmet" with the simple yet ingenious recipe of combining traditional products with freshness and sophistication. The variety is wide and includes tagliatelle, linguine pappardelle, fettuccine and spaghetti, as well as stuffed pasta such as tortellini with meat or raw ham, fagottini with truffle, porcini mushrooms or bacon, quadrotti with wild mushrooms or truffle, Girasoli with ricotta and spinach or salmon and dill, Tortelloni with ricotta and spinach or pesto basil with pine nuts, Triangoli with scampi and shrimps, Ravioloni with ricotta and spinach or with cheese "Monte Veronese G.U.". In addition, dry pasta, fresh pasta with egg and a walnut sauce or pesto with basil and much more are in the offer of the manufactory.

On course for growth with exports

"In order to cope with our increasingly growing demand, we were looking for a strong logistics partner for Italy and our export markets with the expertise to deliver our fresh products safely and on time in high quality to our trade customers as well as to the gastronomes. Another key point for us was and is that the logistics provider can accompany our growth course with a strong presence in Europe," says Arianna Temporin, Sales back office manager of Pastificio Temporin and granddaughter of the founder. Since 2018, DACHSER Italy Food Logistics, based in Pradelle, in the Verona region, has been the logistics service provider for the northern Italian pasta producer and, in conjunction with the members of the European Food Network, offers precisely the service portfolio to enable Pastificio Temporin to carry out temperature-controlled transports within Italy as well as in Europe in compliance with food regulations and in high quality.
