Do good and talk about it
[Transnational networks work when there are people behind them who communicate openly, pursue common goals and respect each other. In this article, Patryk Staniczek, Warehouse Logistics Specialist - Transshipment Hall Service at DACHSER Nuremberg, reports on why he needs strong social skills both in his everyday work life and in his unusual hobby.
I am a very humorous person, I always have a joke on the tip of my tongue, no matter what life situation I am in. This makes every working day more fun for me and for my colleagues. Even though some days as a Warehouse Logistics Specialist are exhausting and the job requires a lot of patience, I never lose my good mood.
My daily work starts in the Operations Manager's office - that's where I pick up my daily information and am informed about special features. Besides checking new requests, my main task is to process shipments and returns. I also have to repack pallets and sort mixed pallets. In my job, I need a high degree of communication skills, economic thinking and combined know-how of the processes in the hall. I have to be able to handle new media and have some technical skills. Punctuality, reliability and social skills are also very important in my job. I like the challenges I face every day - you can't get better without them. But what I like most is that the activities are very varied and involve a lot of contact with people. At DACHSER Nuremberg there are also many opportunities for further training and promotion - it never gets boring or monotonous!
I usually spend my lunch break outside to get some fresh air and a little peace and tranquility. It's a good balance to the work in the hall. Even though everyday life is sometimes stressful, there is a relaxed and humorous atmosphere between me and my colleagues. This makes everything much more fun and creates a familiar, collegial atmosphere.
I also like to take on responsibility in my free time ... for example in my charitable work for people with physical disabilities. There are many people who are happy to receive voluntary support, and I want to help them. That's why, despite the hectic pace of everyday life, I take the time and space for my social vein. Volunteer work with people with disabilities is of inestimable importance. Without it, many cultural and social activities would remain hidden from these people. With my humour I can often score points here too and many are very grateful for my help. The work is a good balance to my job and I do something good at the same time. My social skills are very important both here and at DACHSER.
I hope that I have been able to give you a little insight into my everyday professional life and that you have enjoyed reading it. Have you also become interested in social commitment? My tip: Get in touch with the life support center in your city - they are already waiting for support. Many life support centers also have extra volunteer officers who are available as contact persons. Do good and talk about it.
